BattleTanx is a game released on the Nintendo 64 in 1998. A sequel was spawned for the Nintendo 64 titled BattleTanx: Global Assault.

In 2001, a virus infects the world, killing 99.99% of all females on the planet. The countries remaining in the catastrophic world engage each other in nuclear war over the quarantine zones.

Griffin Spade, a citizen of Queens, New York, lost his wife to the United States Government, and tries to steal a tank in order to fend off forces across the country. Spade heads westward through many cities such as New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.

Gameplay Edit

Spade can use three different tanks during the game. The Goliath, M1A1 Abrams MBT, anad Moto Tank. All three of these tanks have their own respective features and statistics. There are seventeen different levels Spade must traverse across the United States in. Each level's landscape is very interactive and destructible to give the player a free roam feel whilst traveling through the levels.

The game also sports a multiplayer mode. This mode of the game can be played with up to four different players. The game features four modes to play in the multiplayer mode:

  • Annihilation: Provides each competitors with five tanks, last survivor wins.
  • Battlelord: Capture the opponent's Queenlords.
  • Deathmatch: The first to seven kills win.
  • Family Mode: Similar to Deathmatch, however ammunition cannot be switched.
